APT holders have apparently started looking better

I came across Aptos today and ended up reading a bit about what’s been happening with it. Honestly, the part that caught my attention wasn’t the usual “Aptos is fast” stuff. It was that the numbers for APT holders have apparently started looking better. Basically, the network is now bringing in more value than it was before, after paying for the people who keep it running.
I thought that was interesting because it’s one thing for a crypto project to have lots of activity. It’s another thing for that activity to actually bring money into the network. It made me think about how I normally look at these coins. I usually see “fast”, “cheap”, “lots of transactions” and move on because every project says something similar. This felt a little different.
I still have no idea whether this is going to last, though. I’d want to see where the money is coming from and whether people keep using Aptos over time. But at least now I have something specific to watch instead of just another speed comparison.

Wait, I think I actually understand this !
So basically Aptos is seeing more activity that is bringing money into the network, rather than people just using it a lot?
did i got that right?

Yeah, pretty much, with one small correction.
It’s not just “more activity bringing money in.” The interesting part is that the activity seems to be creating more value for the network instead of being just a bunch of transactions happening.

So your main idea is right: the quality of the activity matters more than the raw amount of activity.

This is the first explanation of Aptos I’ve seen that makes me curious about it. Where is that activity actually coming from though?

That’s what I’m trying to figure out too. I don’t think the positive number alone means much yet. I’d be more interested in seeing what people are actually using Aptos for and whether that usage keeps growing.

A lot of it appears to be coming from stablecoin activity, DeFi, and trading-related usage. Recent data shows USDT supply on Aptos has crossed $1.1B, so that’s one metric worth watching to see whether the activity is translating into sustainable network demand.

Good point. Sustainable network revenue is definitely more meaningful than transaction speed alone. The key now is whether Aptos can maintain that revenue and user activity over time.
