BTC was just above 82k

BTC was above 82k last week, and now we're around 78k. I know that's not a huge move in BTC terms but still feels pretty quick.

Then I saw the ETFs apparently had almost $1B coming in last week. So now I'm confused. Who's selling if people are still buying?

Probably people who bought lower and are cashing some out. Doesn't necessarily mean they're bearish.

Yeah I get that part. I just didn't realize the ETF buying and people selling could basically happen at the same time.

I thought ETF inflows meant the price should go up 😭

That's what I thought too at first. It's not like the ETF buys $1B and BTC instantly goes up by some matching amount though.

Wait so the ETF number isn't really a “BTC bought this week = price should be higher” thing?

Not really. The flow tells you there was demand through those funds, but BTC has sellers too. They don't cancel each other out in a simple way.
