September Fed meeting
I just saw the September Fed meeting is on the 15th-16th and now I'm seeing people talking about it in the bitcoin groups. Is this actually something crypto investors watch closely? I honestly never paid attention to the Fed before getting into BTC.
Yeah, people watch it pretty closely. I've noticed BTC can move a lot around Fed announcements. Still not sure how much of it is actually predictable though.
I think there's more to it than that, but yeah, that's roughly what I've picked up too. It's weird because bitcoin is supposed to be independent of governments, but everyone still watches what the Fed says ?
The Fed isn't controlling bitcoin itself. It's more about how investors behave. Rates affect borrowing, cash returns and how much risk people are willing to take. So BTC gets affected even though nobody at the Fed sets the BTC price.
The interesting part is probably everything leading up to the meeting too. Inflation and jobs numbers come out before then, and those can change what the market expects. So the September 15-16 meeting isn't really the only date people will be watching.
Absolutely. Crypto traders watch the Fed closely because rate decisions can strongly affect liquidity and risk appetite. A dovish Fed can support BTC, while a hawkish surprise can put pressure on crypto. The September 15–16 FOMC meeting is definitely one to watch.
