Things I Wish I Understood Before Buying Bitcoin

I’ve seen a lot of people jump into Bitcoin without really taking time to understand how it works.

Most mistakes don’t come from Bitcoin itself, they happen when people skip the basics.

A few common ones I’ve noticed (and honestly made myself early on):

Not understanding how wallets actually work
Assuming exchanges fully protect your funds
Buying too quickly without learning about keys and access
Leaving funds on exchanges for too long
Ignoring backups and recovery options until it’s too late

I made some of these mistakes myself mainly because I moved too fast and assumed everything was simpler than it actually is.

Taking time to learn first can save a lot of unnecessary setbacks later.

What’s one thing you misunderstood when you first started with Bitcoin?
