Man detained following shooting at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Washington DC, April 26: This year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner witnessed an urgent security issue that emerged in the form of gunshots within the locality, compelling the evacuation of the President of the United States of America, Mr Donald Trump, along with other distinguished invitees.

The shooting incident took place at the prestigious Washington Hilton hotel, which hosted this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. According to media reports, the suspect attempted to pass through the Security Service checkpoint near the ballroom entrance.

People at the site witnessed multiple shots being fired, but many took them for a commotion at first. Within no time, the area was swarmed by armed Secret Service agents who escorted President Trump and his wife, Melania, along with other important government officials, to a safe place.

The individual behind the attacks was later found to be a 31-year-old man from California. He allegedly had a gun, a shotgun, and some knives with him.
